About the role
We are looking to add a Proposal Manager to one of our offices in Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Charlotte, NC; Cincinnati, OH; Lexington, KY; or Louisville, KY. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Own the coordination and development of all cost estimates and materials required to fulfill any customer request for proposal (RFP) in pursuit.
- Manage cross-functional teams to review customer requirements within an RFP, including associated contract terms.
- Ensure appropriate workflow is completed so all matters are considered and reflected in outward communications.
- Create and communicate a deliverables matrix, including roles, responsibilities, proposal team resource assignments, and schedule to meet submission deadlines.
- Prepare cost estimating spreadsheets, proposal content structure, and other supporting documents per internal standards, saving them to appropriate storage locations for collaboration.
- Develop final cost and resource needs in collaboration with Technical Business Unit representatives.
- Support pre-project planning with a strong understanding of Project Management fundamentals, project roles, and individual skillsets among the resource pool.
- Monitor and identify individual or proposal team performance issues, escalating to the appropriate party.
- Demonstrate leadership practices and core values, holding others accountable by promoting and celebrating corresponding behaviors.
- Support safety, quality, continuous improvement processes, training, and other best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in a STEM field, manufacturing, professional services, or related industries.
- 3 or more years of experience in standard project management practices, including project scope, budget, goals, technical, and functional requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of the industrial manufacturing space and our solutions.
- Knowledge of proposals, project budgeting, sales-to-execution handoff, and lifecycle management.
- Ability to multi-task across multiple efforts and fluctuating priorities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for business communication, information presentation, and collaboration.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers at functional and technical levels.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands or arms, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
- Generally works in a normal office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature/humidity.
- Overtime may be required.
