About the Role

This recruitment will fill three full-time Property Specialist positions for University Housing & Dining Services (UHDS) at Oregon State University. The Property Specialist 2 performs receiving tasks essential to the successful operation of the dining unit, maintaining adequate quantities of food and non-food supplies, checking accuracy of deliveries, properly storing supplies, and delivering supplies to dining locations per requisitions from micro restaurants.

Responsibilities

  • Enter receiving data and transfers using the Jamix menu & inventory management program.
  • Coordinate storeroom activities, including rotating products, receiving and checking deliveries, conducting inventory, and maintaining inventory control.
  • Maintain, clean, and sanitize storage spaces and loading areas.
  • Perform data entry for all purchases, returns, exchanges, transfers, and purchase orders; update goods to assigned inventory locations.
  • Conduct physical inventory and manage inventory control in Jamix.
  • Provide training and leadership for employees.
  • Drive delivery trucks or vans to transport supplies to dining locations.
  • Perform general support duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience performing stores and inventory work.
  • Training or experience with inventory control systems and shipping methods.
  • Effective decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Significant experience with Office365, including Excel (for reports and data management) and Outlook (for email communication).
  • Ability to learn new computer software systems quickly.
  • Accurate data entry skills for product tracking and inventory.
  • Effective verbal, telephone, and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to build successful working relationships with individuals and communities of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to develop purposeful networks and partnerships to achieve department mission and objectives.
  • Valid Food Handler’s certificate within 30 days of employment (must maintain certification throughout employment).
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history check (position is critical/security-sensitive).
  • Must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check and possess a valid driver’s license (position requires driving university or personal vehicles).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable commitment to inclusive excellence.
  • Significant experience with computerized menu and/or inventory management systems.
  • Experience in a food service operation, particularly at a college or university.

Working Conditions

This is a physically active job in a commercial warehouse environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Long periods of standing on hard floors and sitting for data entry.
  • Exposure to heat (adjacent to a commercial kitchen) and cold (freezer temperatures below 32°F).
  • Exposure to noise and fluctuations in work volume.
  • Bending, lifting, and pushing repetitive motions; lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; pushing/pulling objects up to 500 lbs. (e.g., using a manual pallet jack).
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.

Schedule

  • Flexibility in work shifts is required; shifts may change based on operational needs.
  • Seven-day-a-week operation; early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required.
  • Good attendance is crucial; must adhere to attendance and break schedules and arrive on time in uniform.
  • Position is deemed essential; incumbent must report to work during inclement weather, emergencies, or university closures.
  • May need to regularly access storage areas in residence halls without an escort.

Pay

Salary range: $18.06 – $24.99 per hour.
