About the role

You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary, a benefits program including a 401(K) with company match, and support for professional development. This full-time position is based in Baltimore/Pikesville, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise leasing processes, ensuring documentation is executed and maintained according to procedures; review rent decisions and ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws.
  • Review renewals, create retention strategies, and execute plans to optimize occupancy; initiate eviction proceedings by providing necessary documentation to Property Accountants.
  • Conduct regular property inspections, record deficiencies, and take remedial action within budget constraints.
  • Manage apartment community budgets for prospective years, track performance against budget, and account for variances.
  • Market the apartment community, evaluate competition, and develop plans to reduce vacancies.
  • Maintain community financial documents, including payroll records; approve expenditures and process invoice payments in a timely manner.
  • Oversee community maintenance functions, working closely with maintenance staff to ensure quality unit turns and prompt resolution of resident maintenance requests.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with residents through responsive communication to ensure confidence in the community as clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Perform supervisory functions including hiring, assigning work, training, providing feedback, disciplining, developing, and terminating staff.
  • Model Company core values for staff and residents; enforce Company policies.
  • Schedule direct reports to ensure coverage for routine maintenance, routine operations, and emergency response.
  • Prepare activity reports and management reporting to keep investors/owners informed on community operations and financial measures.
  • Safely transport essential work equipment, supplies, and documents within assigned properties and between company locations.
  • Travel locally to visit communities, conduct property tours, and attend meetings. Occasional travel within Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia for meetings, training, or company events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, relevant to the role.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of residential property management through a successful track record as a Maintenance Supervisor, Leasing Specialist, Assistant Community Manager, or Community/Leasing Manager with a comparable company.
  • Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Experience setting clear performance objectives and supporting staff in achieving business goals.
  • Demonstrated record of coaching and developing direct reports toward career growth.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of property management accounting software or demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle suitable for daily multi-site travel (preferred).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of residential property management experience (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a Property Manager or Community Manager role (preferred).
  • Experience supervising a team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and coaching junior staff.
  • ARM or CAM certifications (preferred).

Physical & Environmental Conditions

  • Physical dexterity: Must have mobility to move about properties and climb stairs.
  • May be required to work overtime to meet deadlines.
  • May be required to work weekends to support special marketing programs.

Pay

$90,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time | Monday–Friday.
