Property Facultative Underwriter

About the role
Everest has established itself as one of the foremost facultative markets in the United States. We are seeking a Property Facultative Underwriter to build and maintain direct and intermediary business relationships, cultivate and underwrite opportunities, and bind business at your general discretion.
Responsibilities
- New business production and renewal underwriting, adhering to underwriting rules and guidelines.
- Develop strong customer relationships through top-notch service.
- Collaborate with claims, accounting, and product management to support company objectives.
- Travel as needed, including monthly trips to assigned markets and territory after initial training.
- Build relationships with ceding companies and reinsurance intermediaries.
- Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities, strategies, and the overall insurance marketplace.
- Experience with catastrophe models is a plus.
- Underwrite specialty business, including power generation, mid-stream production, refining/petrochemical, specialty chemicals, renewables, and mining.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Property Underwriter with various occupancies, including large accounts.
- Excellent marketing skills and established relationships with insurance companies.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills, with the ability to flourish in a team environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering reports.
- Prior reinsurance experience is a plus.
- Ability to interpret catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies and output.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Willingness to travel.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $145,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications, and work location.
