Job Title: Claims Investigator, Career Location: Oakland, CA Duration: Plus one year contract Notes TOP THINGS LOOKING FOR: Property damage, claim handling experience, excellent communication and organizational skills Job Description Job Responsibilities Investigate, negotiate, and settle third party property damage.Investigate and report on incidents that may potentially lead to litigation, investigation lawsuits, and reviews tender cases involving contractors and insurance carriers.Conduct interviews with employees and third parties to investigate claims and incidents.Conduct claims data analysis for trending and lessons learned; presents findings to business partners.Review internal and external records, files and documents regarding incident investigations, liability and damage evaluation, and claims negotiation and settlements. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree or equivalent experience2 years of experience handling claims investigationsValid driver’s license with a clean driving record Desired Certified Insurance Claims Investigator (CICI)California Claims Adjuster license4 years of experience as a claims investigator or related experienceExperience investigating and/or administering bodily injury, property damage, and insurance claims and litigationUtility industry experienceKnowledge and understanding of insurance claims, specifically casualty claims adjustmentKnowledge and understanding of claims management, investigations, and settlementsKnowledge and understanding of tort and contract lawKnowledge and understanding of medical terminologyDemonstrated ability to interact and engage multiple levels of management, leadership, personnel, and unions within an organizationStrong client investigation and resolution skillsStrong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skillsStrong business and technical composition skillsStrong oral communication and presentation skillsProficient computer skills (i.e.: Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and experience with information systems Skills: insurance claims,claim handling,certified insurance claims investigator,property damage,leadership,communication,insurance,investigation
