Accountabilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of property claims from initial reporting through final resolution.
  • Conduct detailed investigations by reviewing policy coverage, assessing damages, determining liability, and identifying potential fraud or subrogation opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate damage estimates using Cotality, Xactimate, or comparable estimating platforms based on inspection findings.
  • Maintain complete claim documentation, including estimates, coverage communications, activity notes, reserves, and settlement records.
  • Communicate proactively with policyholders, claimants, agents, vendors, and internal stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Negotiate claim settlements fairly and professionally while balancing customer needs and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with contractors, independent adjusters, engineers, and internal teams such as legal, underwriting, and fraud investigation.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements, operational efficiency, and enhanced claims quality.
  • Support increased claim volumes and catastrophe response efforts when required.

Requirements

  • Extensive property claims experience, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience creating property damage estimates using Cotality, Xactimate, or similar estimating software.
  • Proven ability to write estimates based on personal inspections and claim evaluations, not just reviewing third-party reports.
  • Active property and casualty adjuster license(s), or ability to obtain required licenses within the required timeframe.
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid claims environment.
  • Strong knowledge of claims investigation, coverage analysis, estimating practices, and settlement processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims and priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable using technology platforms, virtual inspection tools, and digital claims solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
