Property Claims Adjuster
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and conclude claims of highly complex nature.
- Adjust losses in excess of $20,000 required.
- Aptitude for first and third-party claims, including but not limited to wind/hail, fire, water, property damages, cattle, and crop liability losses.
- Introductory understanding of negotiation and interaction with plaintiff counsel and defense counsel.
- Collaborate with teammates to effectively manage/coordinate complex casualty claims.
- Investigate and evaluate coverage issues.
- Support company, departmental, and managerial decisions through positive interpretation, application, and communication of company information and policies.
- Aid in the training of claims personnel regarding casualty claims adjusting.
- Perform special projects as assigned.

Education &/Or Experience
College Bachelor’s degree preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants with an associate's degree and a minimum one year work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry, and who have demonstrated a desire to learn through the completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses. Continued learning through additional courses may be required by the Manager.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms to operate computer keyboard, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
