Property Claims Adjuster
Position Specific Description
Palms Insurance is seeking an experienced and driven Property Claims Adjuster to join our Claims Department. In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, and resolve property claims across affiliate and non-affiliate programs, ensuring fair, accurate, and timely outcomes consistent with policy terms and Palms Insurance's commitment to claims excellence. The ideal candidate brings solid property claims experience, strong analytical instincts, and a collaborative approach to working with internal teams, TPAs, and Business Management partners.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Investigation & Evaluation:
- Investigate and evaluate property claims from first notice of loss through resolution, including coverage analysis, liability assessment, and damage valuation
- Conduct thorough reviews of policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and endorsements to render accurate coverage determinations
- Coordinate field inspections, independent adjuster assignments, and vendor engagements as needed to support claims evaluation
- Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities and coordinate with legal counsel on recovery efforts
- Escalate complex, high-exposure, or long-tenured claims in accordance with internal reporting protocols
Claims Administration & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, well-organized claim files in Palms’ claims system, including all correspondence, coverage analyses, reserve documentation, and closure notes
- Set and maintain adequate reserves throughout the life of the claim, adjusting as new information develops and escalating per large loss reporting requirements
- Monitor and manage claim diaries to ensure timely follow-up and resolution
- Prepare and submit required large loss reports, reserve change documentation, and claims status updates to department leadership
TPA & Vendor Oversight:
- Monitor TPA claim handling activities to ensure consistent application of policy terms and compliance with Palms Insurance's claims standards and SLAs
- Participate in TPA stewardship meetings, file audits, and reviews as part of the department's risk-based TPA oversight program
- Collaborate with claims support vendors to ensure quality outcomes and cost-effective resolution
Compliance & Quality:
- Contribute to audit preparation, regulatory filings, and compliance documentation
- Identify and communicate emerging claims trends, coverage issues, and process improvement opportunities to department leadership
Collaboration:
- Partner cross-functionally with Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to support sound claims outcomes and portfolio insights
- Contribute to a team culture grounded in fairness, transparency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
5+ years of property claims handling experience, including coverage analysis and damage valuation
Strong working knowledge of property insurance policy language, terms, and conditions
Experience with reserve setting and large loss escalation protocols
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience handling commercial property claims
Valid Adjuster Licenses
Preferred
Familiarity with subrogation principles and recovery workflows
Experience with claims management platform
TPA oversight or vendor coordination experience
Active pursuit of or completion of CPCU, AIC, or equivalent industry designation

Job Overview
This position is responsible for handling personal injury and major property damages claims asserted by or against the company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Investigates, evaluates and negotiates satisfactory settlements of personal injury and major property damage claims
Provides support and assistance to company attorneys throughout the claims litigation process, including court testimony
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
High School Grad / GED
Experience: 6+ years
