Property Claims Adjuster

About the role

Mercant Insurance Group is seeking a Property Claim Adjuster to join their Claims team. The role is available in the home office in Buffalo, New York or one of their regional offices in Melville, New York, Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, or Bedford, New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with claims and other internal staff, policyholders, attorneys, agents, and a variety of service providers and experts.
• Investigate coverage and liability damages.
• Provide high-level customer service.
• Conduct and direct timely and quality claim investigations, evaluations, and equitable settlements of all assigned claims.
• Ensure timely and accurate reserves consistent with established reserving philosophy and practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• A minimum of 2 years’ claims experience handling first party Property claims (Commercial claim handling experience is preferred).
• Skilled negotiator, capable of formulating strategy and action plans for files.
• State adjusters license (or ability to obtain).
• Professional designations or working towards industry specific designations are a plus.
• Exceptional organizational, time management, desk management, communication, and negotiation skills are required.

Pay

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $30.00 - $35.00 hourly based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. This range is merely an estimate; actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
