Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Performing month-end-close procedures, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Managing tenant receivables, including billing, collections, and reporting.
- Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for each property, working closely with property managers and other stakeholders.
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation and tax filings.
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Providing financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborating with various teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the quality of our financial reporting.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, especially as they relate to property accounting.
- Proficiency in month-end-close procedures and tenant receivables management.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- A professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA) would be considered an asset.
Pay
$95,000 - $120,000 per year
