Overview
We’re hiring a Property Accountant professional to support financial operations across a large portfolio of condo and co-op buildings. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, operations, and client-facing advisory work. In this role, you will support both building-level books and portfolio-level financial oversight in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage financial operations across a portfolio of buildings, supporting both Account Management and Operations teams
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for individual properties and portfolios
- Partner directly with building boards as a trusted financial point of contact
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across high-volume transactions and reporting workflows
- Identify issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and proactively resolve financial or operational gaps
- Own outcomes across financial processes, systems, and reporting—designing and improving workflows to support scale, not just maintaining them
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to improve efficiency across accounting and operations
What You Bring
- 5+ years of property management accounting experience
- Background in condo or co-op, required
- Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and property-level accounting
- Executive presence and strong communication skills—comfortable interacting with building boards
- Understanding of NYC real estate compliance (tax abatements, Tax Protest, RPIE, Building Financial Audits, etc.), a plus if you also know New Jersey
- Comfort working in high-volume environments with multiple buildings and transactions
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to improve systems and processes; experience using AI tools (e.g., Gemini for Google Sheets) to streamline workflows is a plus
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work through ambiguity and complexity
- Builder mentality—comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving startup environment
- Accounting degree or formal accounting background preferred
Compensation
This role offers a salary of $100K-$140K, depending on experience and qualifications, along with a competitive benefits package and equity.
