Property Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day property accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and financial transaction reviews.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for multiple properties.
• Lead month end, quarter end, and year end close processes while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Partner with property management teams to resolve financial issues, review operating results, and support reporting requirements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, audits, and other financial projects as needed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, property management, or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and close processes.
• Previous experience managing multiple entities, properties, or business units while meeting reporting deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with Yardi or similar property management and accounting software.
• Knowledge of lease accounting, tenant billing, operating expense reconciliations, and property level reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities with the ability to collaborate across departments and stakeholders.
• Self motivated professional with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.

Pay

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $90,000 to $120,000 per year.
