About the role
This role prepares monthly and annual financial statements for an assigned portfolio of condo/co-op communities located throughout Westchester/NYC. The Financial Analyst/Property Accountant works closely with the property manager and resident board members to achieve the community’s financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare General Ledger Accounting for assigned portfolio of condo/co-op buildings
- Review all financial statements and make necessary adjustments
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and present explanations to the board as needed
- Communicate with the Board Treasurer and Board President regarding financial position
- Maintain strong working knowledge of general ledger, trial balance, accruals (on a cash basis), custom reporting, and cash flow projections
- Invest client funds as directed by the Board
- Prepare and present budgets
- Review new account financial files to ensure completeness and proper fund transfers
- Assist with annual audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- At least 2 years of Financial Analyst or Property Accountant experience within the real estate or property management industry
- Experience preparing monthly financial statements for condos/co-ops
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Suite programs
- B.J. Murray or Yardi software experience is a plus
