Project Structural Superintendent

Job Summary

In this role, you will provide onsite leadership for civil/structural construction activities primarily focused on the erection of structural steel across the project, ensuring all work is executed safely, meets technical requirements, and aligns with project schedule and budget objectives. You will direct craft labor and subcontractors, oversee daily field operations, and drive workforce planning, progress reporting, and cost/schedule performance.

Major Responsibilities

• Lead and direct craft labor and subcontractor teams, ensuring safe and efficient execution of daily work.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and coordination, ensuring alignment with project expectations.
• Participate in developing scopes of work, budgets, and contract formation/negotiation.
• Engage proactively in team development through continuous performance management processes, competency assessments, and continuous feedback.
• Determines workforce requirements. Coordinates established area operational plans. Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
• Participates in weekly cost and schedule reviews with senior management.
• Maintains quality, enforces use of current design documents, and ensures that tools, materials, and equipment are available to support efficient execution.

Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience working with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating with design on constructability issues.
• Experience overseeing the preparation of testing processes and required test equipment.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry / international codes & standards applicable to work scope.
• Experience with applicable automation software and processes as applicable.
• C competent in supervising heavy lift activities.
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills and willing to work with a diverse range of people.
