Job Summary

In this role, you will monitor and organize structural steel craft planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination with management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

Major Responsibilities

  • Makes sure steel erection construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements are monitored and organized.
  • Reviews construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements to ensure alignment with overall established schedules.
  • Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
  • Maintains safety and quality standards by enforcing policies, procedures, and related work rules as established by field construction management.
  • Supports construction field engineers, foremen, and craft professionals in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with foremen and craft professionals, and coordinates with design on constructability issues.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience in structural steel operations; to ensure adequate coordination with stakeholders for smooth and safe execution of activities at site.
  • Familiar with construction tools and equipment as well as their uses.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring and control.
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
