Project/Staff Accountant

Summary: MS Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project/Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing financial project reports, billing and accounts payable processes, and providing valuable financial analysis to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. Responsibilities: This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Project AdministrationSetup & maintenance of projects with the company’s ERP - UnanetEstablish project cost codes, billing rates, and other financial parametersWork closely with project controls to provide timely and accurate project level financial information Billing/ARPrepare customer billings on a periodic basis or as needed required by contractUpdate billing spreadsheets based on customer required formattingMonitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding paymentsInterface with customers to resolve billing and collection issuesGeneral AccountingGeneral ledger reporting supportSupport Month End Close Activities Special projects as assigned by the CFOAddress audit inquiries and make recommendations for process improvementsTimekeepingAssist in timesheet intakeEnsure hours allocated properly per company and government guidelinesCommunicate with employees as needed to ensure timesheets are filled out properlyTroubleshoot timekeeping system with employeesPayablesAssist in receiving project related vendor invoicesEvaluate invoices for accuracy and compare to originating purchasing documentsEnsure proper G/L coding and approvalsEnter invoices into the company ERPInterface with project vendors and subcontractors on payables issuesPurchasing/ProcurementAssist in processing procurement documents to include purchase requisitions and purchase orders in support of the Company’s quality programOther duties as assigned or requested.
