Housing & Rental Assistance
- Support students seeking housing assistance by sharing information and making referrals.
- Avoid eviction and provide down-payment assistance.
- Conduct intake assessments and develop action plans.
- Assist with lease agreements and tenant rights.
- Coordinate emergency housing placements.
- Provide ongoing case management support.
- Determine eligibility for rental/mortgage assistance.
Outreach & Education
- Develop and host educational workshops on housing stability, tenant rights, and financial literacy.
- Measure workshop effectiveness and support program improvement.
- Coordinate with various campus departments for targeted outreach.
Community Engagement
- Meet with and establish partnerships with community organizations.
- Attend CSU systemwide workgroup meetings and housing-related conferences.
- Work closely with community organizations to support students.
Data Tracking/Analytics
- Track student housing outcomes and program metrics.
- Prepare standard reports for leadership.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKA’s)
- Understand issues related to student essential needs.
- Establish partnerships with community organizations.
- Work effectively with diverse populations.
- Assess student needs and develop action plans.
- Provide empathetic support to students.
- Track student outcomes and prepare reports.
- Use tact and diplomacy in handling conflicts.
Physical Demands & Environmental Factors
- Lights work – mainly sitting, up to 25% standing or walking; lifting medium weight objects limited to 25 pounds.
Special Conditions
- Screening: Qualified candidates will be invited for a Qualifications Appraisal Board.
- Background Check: Satisfactory completion of a background check is required.
Education & Experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a job-related field with two (2) years of recent related experience.
- Master’s degree in a job-related field may substitute for one year of the professional experience.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, student affairs, higher education administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience within the CSU system or a similar higher education institution.
- Customer-oriented and service-centered attitude.
Special Conditions
- Conditional offer of employment may be rescinded if background check reveals disqualifying information.
- Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site.
- May be called back periodically for emergency work.
General Information

- Must disclose any final administrative or judicial decisions regarding sexual harassment within the last seven years.
