Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues at assigned facilities to ensure continuous and efficient performance.
- Promptly report concerns to the manager.
- Adhere to established sampling schedules, conduct routine water and wastewater tests, perform daily observations and lab tests, and collect regulatory samples and meter readings with integrity and accuracy.
- Record test results in logbooks and data systems; maintain data integrity and report abnormalities to the manager.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment issues; perform repairs and preventative maintenance under managerial guidance.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and organization, including sweeping, mopping, waste removal, and groundskeeping tasks.
- Purchase and order lab supplies, chemicals, and consumables to maintain operational continuity.
- Respond to on-call emergencies within a 60-minute timeframe when scheduled.
- Attend regulatory walkthrough inspections.
- Lead team operations by directing staff, overseeing training initiatives, and actively contributing to hiring processes, including interviews and selection decisions.
- Prepare employee work schedules and assist with payroll entries to support accurate and timely compensation.
- Foster strong client relationships by addressing inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Develop client budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial constraints.
- Prepare and compile regulatory and management-directed reports in alignment with compliance guidelines and instructions from the Senior Area Manager.
- Maintain assigned vehicle and follow policies regarding vehicle operation and safety.
- Follow all safety procedures and promptly address any safety concerns.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the overall operations and objectives of the organization.
Required Qualifications And Certifications
- Prior experience in water/wastewater treatment facility with a deep knowledge of processes and regulatory compliance.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license and a history of responsible driving.
- Ability to lead, supervise employees, and manage projects.
- Strong professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- General computer skills and ability to learn technical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Obtain and maintain relevant water and wastewater treatment certifications is highly encouraged and supported for career growth.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to speak and hear: 4-8 hours/day.
- Walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling: 4-8 hours/day.
- Use hands and fingers to handle, touch, and reach: 4-8 hours/day.
- Climb stairs and/or ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and sit: Regularly.
- Regularly lift and carry materials weighing 10–25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Operate gasoline, diesel, or gas-powered equipment and hand tools.
Working Conditions
- Environment: Work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold temperatures, snow, and ice.
- Noise level: Moderate.
