With a strong repeat client base, we continue to expand our clientele nationwide, starting in the Midwest and growing significantly in Orlando.
About the role
We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee underground utility projects in the Chicagoland area. This role involves a combination of in-office work, field visits, and remote flexibility, focusing on sewer, water, and other underground infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of underground utility projects, including sewer, water, and other infrastructure projects.
- Develop and execute project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
- Lead a team of project professionals and contractors, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
- Manage project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards for all project activities.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Resolve issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present project status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Seek opportunities to improve project management processes and techniques.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on underground utilities or water main installation projects.
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex underground utility projects.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A professional certification in project management (PMP) is preferred.
