Project Manager- Underground Utilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple water, wastewater, sewer, and underground utility construction projects.
  • Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate resources.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations teams.
  • Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, municipalities, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to company leadership.
  • Support estimating and pre-construction efforts when needed.
  • Identify and resolve project risks and challenges proactively.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil, underground utility, water, wastewater, or sewer construction.
  • Proven experience managing municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of water mains, sanitary sewer systems, force mains, storm drainage, lift stations, and related underground utility work.
  • Experience with forecasting, cost controls, and change order management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • PREFERRED: Experience with large-diameter water transmission mains, sanitary sewer and force main installation, wastewater collection systems, lift stations and pump stations, municipal street, drainage, and utility improvements, design-build and public infrastructure projects.
