About the role

As the Project Manager, you will manage all aspects of Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality. You will be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. You will provide for the successful staffing of the project and manage and lead teams of multi-discipline professionals. You will coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third party companies contributing to the initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Leading team efforts for marketing

  • Strategy development

  • Possession of prospect identification, proposal development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for successful opportunities

  • Accountability for new business objectives and for overall project performance

  • External focus to interact with assigned clients, become involved in client activities and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities

  • Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies and leverage other Black & Veatch technical and management resources to advance Black & Veatch’s market footprint

  • Oversight of engineering manager(s)

  • Development of project performance goals

  • Accountability for implementation

  • Active involvement with internal project team and owner project representatives on project activities

  • Performance and commercial management of projects including budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned project(s)

  • Team development, mentoring and coaching on performance improvement

  • Recommendations for training and promotion of assigned professionals as well as identification and development of new candidates to expand the Black & Veatch team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Understanding of budgets and financial metrics

  • Contract negotiation skill including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years engineering experience, of active water/ wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership experience in the Fort Worth/Dallas market

  • Experience leading team efforts for marketing

  • Experience in strategy development

  • Experience in prospect identification, proposal development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for successful opportunities

  • Experience in supporting development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies and leveraging other Black & Veatch technical and management resources to advance Black & Veatch’s market footprint

  • Experience in overseeing engineering manager(s)

  • Experience in developing project performance goals

  • Experience in accountability for implementation

  • Experience in active involvement with internal project team and owner project representatives on project activities

  • Experience in performance and commercial management of projects including budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned project(s)

  • Experience in team development, mentoring and coaching on performance improvement

  • Experience in recommendations for training and promotion of assigned professionals as well as identification and development of new candidates to expand the Black & Veatch team
