About the role

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead medium to large water, wastewater and stormwater projects. The ideal candidate will manage projects from planning through construction, present updates to external client stakeholders, and oversee the schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from planning through construction
  • Present updates to external client stakeholders and support decision-making
  • Provide oversight of the schedule and budget using Black & Veatch's internal process and manage large inter-discipline teams of internal and subconsultant resources
  • Manage all aspects of medium to large water, wastewater and stormwater projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction
  • Provide for the successful staffing of the project
  • Manage and lead medium to large teams of multi-discipline professionals
  • Capture new/repeat business on medium to large size projects; support contract negotiations with clients
  • Manage risk which may include lump sum, new technology, markets or new clients
  • Act as a project manager among responsibilities is management of a project team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant water engineering experience including but not limited to: water and wastewater infrastructure planning, design-build, asset management, detailed design, and construction
  • Knowledge of local, federal, and state permitting requirements and funding mechanisms
