About the role

APTIM’s Energy Transition team is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to support HOMES and HEAR state energy program implementations. This role focuses on project management functions related to the launch of state energy programs nationwide, including development and refinement of planning, program launch activities, policy and procedure implementation, and timeline management with internal and external stakeholders. The position involves direct marketplace engagement with community-based organizations, trade allies, state energy offices, utilities, industry organizations, and other program partners. Location is flexible within Texas, with a hybrid office/telecommute arrangement.

APTIM’s Energy Transition team is a recognized leader in delivering innovative energy solutions, including energy efficiency, energy management, carbon management, smart infrastructure, and distributed energy resources. The team collaborates with clients to define and implement strategies that deliver high-impact outcomes for government, utility, and commercial clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an energy efficiency team to ensure the planning, administration, and implementation of HOMES and HEAR programs are successfully executed.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timeline, and resource allocation.
  • Manage calendars, meeting agendas, maintain detailed notes, KPI tracking, and deliverables.
  • Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Monitor project progress and identify risks or issues that may impact timelines or deliverables.
  • Implement effective project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, including requirements, specifications, and change requests.
  • Facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external team meetings.
  • Understand relationships between work processes and business objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment within the team and broader organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies as well as OSHA regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent work/industry experience.
  • 4+ years of program/project management experience related to energy program management, implementation, or administrative oversight.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Mastery of Microsoft project management and supporting software (e.g., Planner, Project, PowerBI).
  • Sound business ethics, including protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for senior management.
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience in client engagement and coordination.
  • Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities, including report writing and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a practical, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Ability to identify and resolve project incentive application issues with customers and trade allies.
  • Tangible and documented operational management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the energy efficiency industry.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency technologies and energy-saving solutions.
  • Experience with multiple project management systems.

Pay

As of the date of this posting, the estimated pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 per year. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
