About the role

At GM2, we deliver innovative engineering, planning, survey, and construction inspection solutions that strengthen communities and support critical infrastructure. To support the continued growth of our energy and utilities division, we are seeking a results-driven project manager to help lead and expand our portfolio of utility infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted partner to clients, stakeholders, and project teams, leading the successful delivery of energy and utility projects while managing client accounts, fostering new business opportunities, and guiding multidisciplinary teams to support the continued growth of GM2's Energy & Utilities division. The position reports directly to GM2's leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead utility and energy infrastructure projects from planning through construction and closeout.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and client communication.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams including engineering, environmental, permitting, and construction support staff.
  • Serve as a primary contact for utility clients, agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Support business development activities including proposals, client meetings, contract negotiations, and strategic pursuits.
  • Manage key client accounts and identify opportunities for additional services and long-term partnerships.
  • Mentor staff and support operational and project delivery excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing utility, infrastructure, or energy-related projects.
  • Experience with electric transmission/distribution, substations, gas utilities, renewable energy, or utility capital programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams of engineers and professionals across multiple assignments and projects.
  • Strong client relationship and management skills, with a history of building long-term partnerships.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 annually.
