About the role
We are seeking a Project Manager - Sales to lead projects related to Cummins, Inc. in Nashville, TN or anywhere in the US. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading multiple projects from initiation through completion
- Facilitating project planning sessions to define scope, requirements, success metrics, and timelines
- Developing detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, and performance goals
- Tracking project progress and performance, identifying and resolving issues that could impact delivery
- Maintaining project documentation, records, and reporting; communicating status to sponsors and stakeholders
- Capturing, documenting, and sharing project learnings and best practices to improve future outcomes
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Communicates effectively - Tailor your communication style for different audiences (leaders, team members, vendors, cross-functional partners)
- Provide clear, timely updates that help others make decisions quickly
- Simplify complex information so everyone understands project status, needs, and next steps
- Project Issue and Risk Management - Identify risks early and escalating issues before they become blockers
- Use structured tools (risk logs, impact assessments, action trackers) to stay organized
- Lead follow-up actions to reduce impacts and keep work moving forward
- Project Management - Keep scope, schedule, and resources in balance
- Coordinate tasks, timelines, and dependencies across teams
- Ensure project deliverables produce the intended impact once completed
- Project Scope Management - Track deliverables and ensuring the team stays focused on required work only
- Document changes and align stakeholders
- Keep everyone clear on what’s in-scope and what’s not
Requirements
- College, university, or equivalent degree required
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required
- Knowledge of power generation products
- Ability to interface with contractors, consulting engineers, vendors
- Knowledge of codes
- Knowledge of technical documentation
- Strong research capabilities
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Capable of multi-tasking on a variety of complex tasks
- Data and process oriented/driven
- Team environment with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Project Administration, Engineering and Service Team both within and outside of their account
- Good base of understanding of project financials
- Build rapport with external stakeholders - client and trade partners
- Ability to review and understand design submittals preferred
- Previous experience in a new construction preferred

At Cummins, we offer competitive compensation and benefits packages. The salary range for this position is $78,800 to $118,200, with a final offer based on qualifications and experience.
