About the role

Manages the implementation of small to medium projects, providing overall leadership and support to project team members. Acts as the front-line contact for project-related activities, issues, and risks, managing and escalating risks and issues as needed. Interfaces with business unit leaders, finance, and stakeholders to develop financial measures such as ROI and IRR. Aligns project deliverables with outcomes in collaboration with the business change manager. Adheres to program and project governance controls, plans and monitors project progress, and manages the project budget and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinates projects and their interdependencies, manages resources, and ensures alignment with business goals and ongoing IT issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and support to project team members.
  • Act as the front-line contact for project-related activities, issues, and risks.
  • Manage project risks and issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Interface with business unit leaders, finance, and stakeholders to develop ROI, IRR, and other financial measures.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and escalate issues as needed.
  • Adhere to program and project governance controls.
  • Plan and monitor project progress, performing daily project management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the project budget and financial performance.
  • Coordinate projects and their interdependencies.
  • Manage and utilize resources effectively.
  • Align deliverables with project outcomes in collaboration with the business change manager.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and adhere to physical and digital security practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management and team leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in sponsor reporting and escalation.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
  • Focused and versatile team player comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
  • Understanding of current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative).
  • In-depth understanding of project management concepts.

Experience

  • More than four years of project management experience.
  • Experience working with project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Visio, MS Project, Clarity).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field.
  • PMP, Prince2, and/or Agile certification (preferred but not required).
