About the role

Manages the implementation of small to medium projects, provides overall leadership and support to project team members, and acts as the front-line contact for project-related activities, issues, and risks. Manages project risks and issues, escalates as needed, interfaces with business unit leaders and finance, and develops ROI, IRR, and other financial measures. Manages stakeholder communication, adheres to program and project governance controls, plans and monitors project progress, and performs daily project management throughout the project life cycle. Manages the project budget and financial performance, coordinates projects and their interdependencies, and aligns deliverables to the project’s outcome with the business change manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and support to project team members
  • Act as front-line contact on project-related activities, issues, and risks
  • Manage project risks and issues and escalate accordingly
  • Interface with business unit leaders and finance to develop ROI, IRR, and other financial measures
  • Manage stakeholder communication and escalate as needed
  • Adhere to program and project governance (controls)
  • Plan the overall project and monitor progress
  • Perform daily project management throughout the project’s life cycle
  • Manage the project’s budget and financial performance
  • Coordinate projects and their interdependencies
  • Manage and utilize resources
  • Align deliverables (outputs) to the project’s outcome with the business change manager
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or related field
  • More than four years of project management experience
  • Experience working on project and portfolio management tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.)
  • PMP, Prince2, and/or Agile certification (preferred but not required)

Skills

  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sponsor reporting and escalation experience
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment
  • Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
  • Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative)
  • In-depth understanding of project management concepts

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $XX–$XX and is based on job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors. This position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of X% of the base salary.
