About the role
The Project Manager (PM) at Mayo Clinic is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and delivering project activities across the entire project life cycle. This role involves leading one or multiple medium to large projects with department or site-level strategic importance. Projects may have moderate to high risks and interdependencies, and may involve significant costs.
Responsibilities
- Assume primary responsibility for project planning, direction, coordination, and delivery.
- Achieve project objectives and completion on time, within budget, and in compliance with Mayo Clinic project management methodologies and standards.
- Manage established budget and participate in its creation and tracking.
- Facilitate problem-solving, decision-making, and change management.
- Apply negotiation skills and demonstrate strong business acumen.
- Build and maintain relationships with diverse functions and staff from other departments, divisions, and contractors/vendors.
- Lead project teams, guide them on Agile practices, assess team/maturity, and coach to higher levels.
- Remove impediments or guide teams to resolve issues; escalate when necessary.
- Create and refine the product backlog for the Product Owner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience in Project Management and business-related activities, or Master's degree with 4 years of experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Education preference: project management, business administration, management.
- Certifications such as Certified Product Management, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, and/or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP).

Pay and Schedule
- Compensation: $93,392 - $140,130 per year.
- Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period.
- Hours: Day shift, schedule varies based on department needs.
