Job Summary
The Nurse Manager oversees a team of nurses providing home visitation services to clients and manages their records. Key responsibilities include training, scheduling, and mentoring nursing staff, managing a budget, and consulting on patient treatment plans.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide daily management of Nurse Family Partnership team and Community Health Nurse team, ensuring they meet metrics and funding requirements.
- Offer regular performance reviews and appropriate recognition.
- Support ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Attend and participate in monthly Manager team meetings.
- Oversee and provide support to the Nurse Family Partnership team and the Community Health Nurse team.
- Lead monthly staff meetings with the CHN team and the NFP team.
- Assign nurses to clients: maintain nursing caseloads and provide ongoing mentoring and supervision.
- Ensure timely submission of all documentation from both nurse teams.
- Afford assistance to nurses as needed.
- Ensure nursing clients meet program eligibility requirements.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Complete Home Visits, if needed.
- Maintain inventory of items purchased for clients and nurses.
- Complete purchase orders as needed.
- Document, complete, and submit all required data reports for each team.
- Attend management meetings, as required.
- Lead the team in achieving deliverables set forth by agency and funders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- BLS certification.
- Two years of nursing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred Qualifications
- CLC or IBCLC certification.
- One year of management experience.
- BSN required.
- MSN preferred.
- Experience in Maternal Child Health, Pediatric Health, Mental Health, and/or case management is a plus.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of driving throughout the county.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
