Responsibilities
- Support mechanical design execution for various healthcare projects under the guidance of senior engineers
- Aid in project management tasks, including scheduling, coordination, and budgeting
- Prepare engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Contribute to the preparation of cost proposals and project contracts, including add service agreements
- Engage in MEP systems reviews, collaborating with code officials, contractors, architects, and clients to ensure compliance and quality
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors
- Participate in quality control reviews of MEP system designs, calculations, and drawings
- Provide support to designers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Gain experience in managing projects, with opportunities for career growth into senior-level roles
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in MEP design and engineering for healthcare projects within an engineering consulting environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Experience with design software such as Revit BIM, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, and Easypower
- Proficiency in national and local building codes, including NEC, State Energy Codes, NFPA guidelines, and FGI guidelines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on project teams
- A PE license is preferred, but candidates pursuing licensure will be considered
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability
- Willingness to learn and grow in a project management capacity
