About the role

The APS Project Manager IV – New Generation Construction oversees large-scale solar, energy storage, and gas-fired power plant projects with significant financial and/or operational impact. Projects are typically between $75,000,000 to $500,000,000 and involve high complexity as defined by APS Project Complexity guidelines. The role involves leading multi-disciplinary teams and communicating with senior executives and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and executes large, cross-functional, multi-disciplinary, high-impact projects.
  • Develops and presents comprehensive project plans to sponsors and management.
  • Oversees project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, vendor relationships, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Provides regular project updates to project teams, business management, sponsors, and external constituents.
  • Safeguards project deliverables and results to meet or exceed sponsor and stakeholder expectations.

Requirements

  • A four-year Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Plus 12 years job-related project management experience, or 16 years with a combination of college coursework and/or experience.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience managing large, complex, high-impact projects.
  • Experience in directing multi-discipline teams.

  • Advanced functional/technical knowledge of business units' line of business, practices, and procedures.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Adaptable to changing environments and uncertainty.
