Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellence and efficiency in writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Manage and lead investigative field work for a variety of media and pathways, including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and vapor intrusion.
  • Understand client objectives and apply them to develop practical, solution-driven remedial strategies.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
  • Interface with clients and secure and grow new and existing business.
  • Show strong responsibility and work ethic.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Demonstrate strong quality assurance/quality control skills to perform technical, style, and consistency reviews.
  • Manage time effectively and balance multiple fast-paced projects.
  • Prioritize safety and have working knowledge of industry health and safety practices.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Project.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. in Hydrogeology or Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
  • M.S. or M.A. degree in relevant field highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of environmental consulting and/or professional hydrogeologist or engineering experience with a focus in contaminant investigation and remediation.
  • The preferred candidate will be team-focused and possess excellent communication and writing skills, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple deadlines with a variety of clients and project teams.
  • Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical proficiency in navigating the MI Part 201 and/or RCRA Corrective Action programs from site characterization and risk evaluation to no further action.
  • In-depth experience with PFAS investigation and treatment highly preferred.
  • Understanding of hydrogeological principles and geochemistry as it relates to contaminant transport and remediation.
  • Experience with in situ and ex situ methods of soil and groundwater remediation targeting a variety of constituents.
  • Understanding of the RCRA solid waste rules and monitoring requirements is a plus.
  • Vapor intrusion, soil gas, and indoor air investigation experience preferred.
  • Exposure to environmental consulting work in other Midwest states.
  • Valid driver's license with 40-hr HAZWOPER certification and an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course.
