Project Manager- Electric

About the Role

The Project Manager – Electric is a senior-level professional position within ESCO Electric’s project management structure. This role serves as the lead resource for external customer project delivery, managing large-scale or multiple projects simultaneously for multi-discipline teams. Strategic leadership, mentorship, and mastery of project management skills are required.

Background and Experience

To be considered, candidates should have one of the following:

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college, technical school, or university and six or more years of related work or industry experience.
• A combination of equivalent education and experience with solid evidence of success.

Required experience includes:

• Project engineering or project services environment.
• Project management activities such as budgeting, scope management, risk management, and scheduling.
• Project team leadership, estimating, proposals, and client collaboration during the sales process.
• High proficiency with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of workplace safety practices, policies, and procedures.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Project, Access, SharePoint, and Dynamics.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• OSHA 10 certification; willingness to obtain OSHA 30 certification.
• Understanding of complex electrical principles and design.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple medium to large-sized electrical projects of significant complexity simultaneously.
• Perform project management independently while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
• Create and manage project tools including project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Follow and maintain all established project management processes.
• Prepare client bid pre-qualification packages, estimates, and proposals, including compilation of relevant documents.
• Review estimates prepared by others.
• Utilize accounting-related systems for accurate tracking and forecasting of project performance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with accounting on assigned projects.
• Provide quality assessments of work performed by others.
• Mentor and train less experienced team members through project leadership.
• Collaborate with management to develop and execute strategies for retaining and improving business with key clients.
• Establish and maintain professional client relationships.
• Partner with resource managers to ensure proper project staffing.
• Prepare and lead project meetings.
• Process change orders.
• Approve project timecards and expenses.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of industry safety standards, company safety programs, and client-specific safety requirements.
• Adhere to all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.
• Support and enhance ESCO’s standards and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Travel

Up to 25% overnight travel may be required for services at out-of-town client facilities. Some long-term travel assignments may exceed the standard 25%, depending on project scope, schedule, and assigned tasks.

• The noise level is usually moderate but may include very loud areas.
• All necessary personal protective equipment is provided to meet or exceed OSHA regulations.

Schedule

Typical working hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Extended hours, including holidays and weekends, may be required due to the 24/7 nature of ESCO’s client services.
