Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Richmond, VA

Description

• Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all on-site personnel follow safety and environmental standards
• Manage all phases of construction projects, coordinating with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
• Maintain schedules, budgets, and project timelines to ensure successful delivery
• Lead communication across project stakeholders including clients, architects, and consultants
• Run project meetings (internal and client-facing) and distribute detailed meeting minutes
• Support field teams with quality control processes and subcontractor coordination
• Oversee RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and correspondence
• Manage subcontractor buyout, scope definition, and procurement of major materials
• Conduct site walks and inspections to monitor progress and address issues proactively
• Ensure proper project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation
• Aid with estimating, GMP development, and risk management initiatives
• Accurately track action items, deliverables, and project documentation

Profile

• 10+ years of construction project management experience
• High school diploma required; degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of construction methods, project processes, and trade scopes
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and multiple stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and construction/project management software
• Experience with scheduling tools and document control processes
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Familiarity with Lean construction principles is a plus
