Project Manager - Commercial Construction
About the role
We’re looking for a Project Manager who is accountable, collaborative, and relentlessly thorough — someone who takes genuine ownership, builds high‑performing teams, and holds the line on quality, schedule, and trust. The real job is owning the outcome from kickoff to closeout.
Our values define the people who succeed at MCL: Passionate — you care deeply about the work, the craft, and the people around you; Dedicated — you show up fully every day; Thorough — details matter; Respectful — you treat everyone with respect.
MCL Construction has been building Omaha and the surrounding region since 1987. We build with integrity, show up with purpose, and leave every project — and every relationship — better than we found it. You'll work with experienced teammates on projects that shape communities, in a culture that values your judgment and the impact of your work.
Responsibilities
- Lead Projects End‑to‑End: Take full ownership of commercial projects from kickoff through closeout; drive execution against schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks; anticipate risk and make decisions that protect the project.
- Build and Align Your Team: Partner closely with superintendents, owners, architects, and internal teams; manage contracts, cost controls, documentation, and reporting with precision; hold stakeholders accountable and communicate proactively.
- Grow the Business: Strengthen client relationships that drive repeat work and long‑term partnerships; represent MCL in the community and contribute to a culture others want to be part of.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural preferred).
- 8+ years of commercial construction experience, with 3+ years in a Project Manager role.
- Experience managing large‑scale commercial construction projects (a strong plus).
- Strong command of budgets, contracts, and project controls.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with GMP and CMAR delivery methods is a strong plus.
- Lead with accountability — you own outcomes, not just tasks.
- Detail‑oriented and disciplined; cost and schedule are never an afterthought.
- A collaborative leader who builds trust across teams quickly and is committed to safety and quality.
