Project Manager - Civil Construction

About the role

Responsible for full project lifecycle ownership, from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on financial performance, coordination, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Ownership: Manage projects from start to closeout; align scope, schedule, and budget; drive decisions to keep projects progressing.
• Financial Management: Manage budgets and forecasts; track costs and margins; manage change orders and billing; recover costs; deliver accurate monthly financial reporting.
• Planning & Scheduling: Develop project schedules; lead 2‑week and 6‑week planning; coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors; resolve schedule constraints.
• Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as primary point of contact; lead meetings and communications; build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Contract & Documentation Management: Manage contracts and subcontracts; review plans and specifications; oversee RFIs, submittals, and change processes.
• Field Collaboration: Work closely with superintendents; support field execution and logistics; ensure crews have required resources.
• Risk & Closeout: Identify and mitigate risks; ensure compliance with requirements; oversee final billing, punch lists, and closeout documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years project management experience in civil construction, site development, or concrete projects.
• Strong expertise in job costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read plans and contracts.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Technical proficiency with construction software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, or similar) and accounting tools (e.g., Sage or equivalent).
• Open to candidates in Reno, NV.
• Preferred: large‑scale civil projects, subcontractor management experience, proven track record of profitable delivery.
