Project Manager 3 (Data Centers) - Reno, NV

Convergint is seeking a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Project Manager to join our team. In this customer-facing role, you will ensure projects are executed within budget and on schedule while maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance.

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team that supports growth and development. You will manage small to medium projects of moderate complexity from award through completion, translate customer needs into detailed proposals, and coordinate procurement, milestones, and cost analysis. You may also oversee subcontractor selection and perform limited managerial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage, oversee, and coordinate multiple aspects of projects from award through completion.
• Translate customer needs and requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans.
• Communicate project requirements to the team and maintain accurate records of job status, changes, and material flow.
• Act as “our customer’s best service provider” to ensure Convergint remains the customer’s first choice for service.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, supplies, and services to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
• Establish project milestones and analyze costs.
• Facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
• Participate in the Recruit Awesome People program to promote Convergint’s colleague-first culture.

Requirements

• Project management experience in a technical environment (e.g., building automation systems, fire alarm systems, or electronic security systems).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
• Extreme adaptability and ability to influence others using advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills.
• Solid financial analytical skills, including cost control.
• Experience managing client relationships and communications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Experience: 5-7 years in project management.
• Preferred (but not required): 5 years in engineering, field service, or project management; experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, or building automation industries.
• Certifications & Licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI) or industry-specific certifications/licenses are a plus.
