About the role

The Project Manager 1 organizes and leads teams for small to moderately complex projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks and goals. This includes managing project scope, timeline, budget, and resources, as well as providing leadership and guidance to team members.

Responsibilities

• Develops project plans to ensure feasibility with proper resourcing and effective change management.
• Establishes project deliverables, timeframes, and holds the project team accountable for completion, balancing short-term and long-term goals.
• Creates a clear project charter, defines team roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities to ensure project success.
• Prepares and presents the project scope document, achieving agreement on project parameters and goals.
• Secures approvals at each phase of the project.
• Participates in feasibility studies, business planning, and benefit review studies, ensuring cost, benefit, and risk elements are identified and considered.
• Collaborates with other departments to obtain needed resources to complete projects within expectations and timeframes.
• Manages small-scale and moderately complex projects to ensure quality and timely achievement of deliverables and goals.
• Prepares and maintains project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
• Communicates task assignments and due dates clearly, professionally, and in a timely manner.
• Manages the work plan and project tasks to meet committed time frames and milestones.
• Monitors project status, resolves risks, issues, and action items promptly, and escalates to leadership when needed.
• Facilitates team meetings to discuss project progress (e.g., daily stand-ups if using Agile methodology).
• Serves as a contact to senior management and key stakeholders to report project progress and assist with problem resolution.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Maintains business operations and applications knowledge to provide required information as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare, or a related field (preferred)
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies
• Experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet, Planview, or Azure DevOps
• Exceptional knowledge of project management methodologies
• Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Aptitude for quickly understanding and documenting new processes and technical concepts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with project teams and stakeholders
• Exceptional organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking
• Ability to balance demands and respond to time constraints
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and collaboration tools
