Job Summary

The Project Manager 1 role at American Engineering Testing (AET) serves as an entry point into project management within the civil engineering and consulting fields. In this role, the Project Manager will gain foundational experience and skills by assisting senior project managers in the planning, organization, and execution of projects across AET’s service areas, including geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, environmental consulting, and structural engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Aid in establishing project timelines and resource allocation, ensuring all phases are prepared to meet AET’s standards for quality and efficiency.
• Timely collection and testing of samples and materials, coordinating with field and lab teams to maintain consistency with project requirements.
• Organize and update project documentation, including tracking sample data, maintaining field logs, and compiling test result summaries.
• Provide project updates to clients and internal teams under the supervision of senior project managers, ensuring client expectations are managed effectively.
• Maintain safety standards for fieldwork and laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Support adherence to AET’s quality standards and industry regulations.

Preferred Skills

• 1-3 years of Project management experience in the construction industry.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Project Management software Dynamics.

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based with frequent field visits.
• Exposure to outdoor environments and active construction sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
• Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in field settings.
