The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization has an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Lead Project Management Specialist (Level 4 or Level 5) to support the VC-25B Chief Engineer in a chief of staff capacity. Responsibilities
- Act as a key liaison between the Senior Director & Chief Engineer and internal/external stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration across multiple departments and teams.
- Support the Chief Engineer in strategic planning, program execution, and decision-making processes.
- Partner with Executive Office Administrator to manage and prioritize the Chief Engineer's schedule, meetings, and communications to optimize time and focus on high-impact activities.
- Develop and maintain engineering governance frameworks, ensuring clear policies, procedures, and decision-making structures are in place to support program objectives and compliance.
- Create and manage the engineering operating rhythm to ensure consistent communication, alignment, and progress tracking across the program.
- Develop engineering metrics and dashboards; proactively analyze and report when metrics indicate potential issues or risks.
- Drive follow-up actions on key initiatives and issues, ensuring accountability and timely resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the engineering leadership team, fostering collaboration and alignment across the program.
- Build charts, presentations, and other communication materials about the program in partnership with the engineering leadership team, tailoring content to the audience's needs and expectations.
- Collaborate closely with leadership, understanding the audience and context to develop effective, impactful presentations and communications.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
- 5+ years of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data
- Experience in a role that required teaming and collaboration skills, and ability to work well with a geographically dispersed cross-functional and matrix team
- 3+ years of experience with any of the following: Project/Program Management, Procurement, Supplier Program Management, Engineering, Production Engineering, and/or Supplier Quality
- 3+ years of experience collaborating with Senior level executives and/or project management and/or complex operations
- Ability to analyze data, summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work with sensitive information, safeguarding confidential information
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Knowledge and/or experience within the aviation industry
- Active Secret clearance is preferred
- Familiarity with aerospace program management processes and terminology
- Experience with Agile or LEAN methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to tailor communications and presentations to diverse leadership audiences
- Level 4 & 5: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay
- Senior (Level 4) - $118,150 - $159,850
- Lead (Level 5) - $146,200 - $197,800
