About the role
The Communications Department at BGEA tells the story of what God is doing through the organization by creating print and online content that supports the mission of proclaiming the Gospel. This role contributes to internal clients’ strategic communications planning and coordinates projects and campaigns through print, video, and digital media services.
Work locations include headquarters in Charlotte, NC; the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC; the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove (BGTC) in Asheville, NC; Blue Ridge Broadcasting (BRB) in Asheville, NC; or a field office abroad.

Responsibilities
- Understands clients’ departmental strategic plans and participates in development of tactical communications projects and campaigns
- Meets with project originators and representatives from other departments to document plans for communications projects and campaigns
- Handles and oversees projects from planning to timely completion by initiating documentation and coordinating with Creative Services, Internet, Video Media Services (VMS), and others
- Initiates projects with sufficient completion time and information for creative work to begin
- Acts as liaison between client and Creative Services, Internet, Video Media Services, and others
- Monitors project progress and recommends changes as appropriate
- Maintains a master calendar of assigned projects and coordinates timing with other Project Leads
- Coordinates response mechanisms to ensure high standards of quality, timeliness, and professionalism
- Ensures correct entry into donor database with appropriate codes for accurate mailings, reporting, and maintenance
- Secures necessary approvals for all communications projects
- Ensures established quality standards and delivery deadlines for mailings, e-mails, and response materials are met
- Coordinates support activities with Mail Processing, Information Systems (IS), Distribution Services, Response Center, Internet, and other departments
- Monitors effectiveness of projects and makes recommendations to originators
Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor-level degree, preferably in marketing or communications, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing, communications, or related field
- Significant experience in project coordination preferred
- Experience in nonprofit or ministry organization desired
- Excellent communication, listening, organizational, and work prioritization skills
- Strong initiative with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with a customer service ethic
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence, and to present information effectively
- Proficient in MS Office and related software
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to quickly understand and apply internal processes
- Passion for serving Jesus Christ through BGEA
- Christian testimony displayed in behaviors within and outside the workplace
Physical/Mental Demands
- Ability to work under stress and pressure of multiple deadlines
- Demonstrated flexibility when job parameters, deadlines, or directions change
- Occasionally requires working beyond standard hours and without prior notice
