Project Inspector - DOTI Citywide Bridge Program
About the role
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $63,679 - $85,000/annually, based on experience and education. Location & Schedule
In this role, you will work on-site at the Denver Wastewater Management Building (2000 W. 3rd Ave., Denver, CO 80223) and at project sites in the field, depending on operational and project needs.

The DOTI Citywide Bridge Program oversees a $55–$70 million annual capital improvement program supporting the City’s stormwater system, citywide bridge program, sanitary system, and green infrastructure initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background and understanding of construction management, with expertise in project implementation and leadership techniques to ensure successful project completion. Experience in underground heavy civil, bridge structures, retaining walls, and culverts is essential. The candidate should also have demonstrated experience working directly with contractors on heavy civil construction and/or bridge construction projects in an inspection capacity. Additionally, our ideal candidate has some or all of the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- Two (2) years of documented experience as a Project Inspector or Project Manager
- Experience in dealing with the public as an inspector or project manager on heavy civil project, bridge/structures, or similar type work
- Experience with concrete formwork, rebar inspection, bridge bearing inspection, structural steel erection, girder fabrications and bridge deck installation
- Experience handling environmental contaminants on construction sites
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders on construction projects with a focus on collegial teamwork, de-escalation when necessary, and customer service
- Proficient using Adobe PDF software and all Microsoft Office products
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field of study
- Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience inspecting construction projects for adherence to project plans and specifications, or construction project management involving the oversight and inspection of construction materials, methods, and equipment
- Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education
- Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
- Licenses and certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
