Construction Inspector Bridge

About the role

This opportunity is with WSP, a leading engineering firm in New England. We provide construction management and inspection services for projects ranging from $1-$50 million. The position can be based in Portland, Augusta, Eliot, ME, or Merrimack, NH.

Responsibilities

• Interface with contractor's supervisors to determine and monitor daily work.
• Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
• Help coordinate independent material sampling and testing, or perform tests periodically.
• Maintain traffic and take and compile photographs for tracking of daily progress.
• Help update red-line drawings using Bluebeam.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 5 years of applicable experience
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn how to read plans and specifications, or the aptitude to learn
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements

• Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
• Average proficiency with MS Word Suite
• Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems
• Knowledge of Bluebeam
• ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring
