Summary

Mortenson's Federal Contracting and Chicago Operating Group is seeking a Project Finance Operations Supervisor to provide accounting, analysis, and financial support to project teams.

Responsibilities

- Manages a team of Project Accountants - Reviews contracts and understands contract terms, prepares summaries of key contract terms - Administers project set-ups, ensuring conformity to contract terms - Oversees the preparation of monthly project billings, in accordance with contractual requirements for both cost-based and fixed-price contracts: - Ensures all costs are billed on a timely basis - Resolves customer or project team billing issues as they arise - Assists group leadership in the timely collection of contract billings - Follows up with customer contacts as requested and monitors overall cash position of projects to ensure favorable cash flow - Performs and reviews budget allocations - Provides assistance to project cost functions - Supports project teams in developing Project Financial Projections (PFP) - Works with Accounts Payable to set up new vendors, coordinate payments, or daily check issuances - Supervises the accurate and timely deployment of: project billing process, subcontractor certified payroll reports, and specialized reporting as requested - Supports collections of receivables - Collects sales and use tax information - Supports the billing, reporting, and inventory processes for equipment operations - Provides support for project audits - Prepares the monthly financial reports - Leads and actively participates in project financial reviews for operating groups, providing insights and recommendations to project leadership, operating group leadership, and business partners. - Reviews and understands Job Schedule and Cash Position - Supports percentage-of-completion processes, including revenue recognition scenarios - Participates in and leads assigned initiatives

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or related field, or equivalent years of experience - Minimum of 7 years related experience - Previous experience with large ERP systems - Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills - Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills - Ability to understand complex construction business concepts - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple projects at a time - Strong written and oral communication skills - Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to internal and external customers - Leadership skills; ability to set direction and implement changes across a team - Effectively works with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

(Actual range is higher for Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
