About the Role

The Project Coordinator assists with planning and coordinating activities for designated projects to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. This includes reviewing project proposals and plans to determine duration, budget, material requirements, delivery dates, and staffing needs. The role involves purchasing, subcontract administration, requests for information, change-order development, billing, and other project-specific duties.

Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and operate safely within heavy industrial environments, including plant operations or construction jobsites.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and coordinating project activities to meet goals and objectives within time and budget constraints.
  • Review project proposals and plans to determine duration, budget, material requirements, and delivery dates.
  • Handle purchasing, subcontract administration, requests for information, change-order development, and billing.
  • Update and maintain construction schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Read and interpret drawings, including piping isometrics, structural steel, and process equipment.
  • Identify and solve on-site construction issues using problem-solving skills.
  • Ensure proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet development, and overall computer use.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the heavy-industrial market, including piping systems, structural steel, and industrial process equipment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience in the industrial construction industry.
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with management and supervision.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations, including client and company policies.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly talk or hear; frequently walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms; occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or handle objects.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Perform sedentary to heavy work.

Mental Demands

  • Direct others and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
  • Strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills for giving and receiving directions.
  • Ability to use math and complete calculations.
  • Work at various tempos and concentrate amid distractions.
  • Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remember, examine, and observe details.
