About the Role

This opportunity entails responsibility for the technical work and supervision of others in one or more project controls disciplines, with a focus on document control and including scheduling, estimating, cost control, risk management, and project management information systems. The role supports project development and delivery, provides supervision, and performs quality control/quality assurance on project controls work efforts and deliverables. The Project Controls Team Leader oversees staff in document control and provides guidance and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, edits, and publishes guidelines, manuals, and documents for use by project controls staff.
  • Supervises and performs quality control/quality assurance on project controls work efforts, products, and deliverables.
  • Handles supervisory duties in areas such as:
    • Scheduling: preparation and analysis of schedule baselines, progress schedules, specialty schedules, schedule analysis, and project progress reporting.
    • Estimating: developing construction estimates, preparing independent cost estimates, and supporting scenario analysis.
    • Budget/cost control: guidance and oversight of cost management systems, preparation of cost report templates, and issuing monthly cost and change management reports.
    • Risk management: preparation and analysis of risk-based estimating products.
    • PMIS/PMCS and document control: administration, filing, and archiving of engineering, procurement, construction documents, reports, deliverables, invoices, and business policies and procedures.
  • Develops, implements, utilizes, and maintains management information systems, including document control, cost, and scheduling systems.
  • Validates estimates and schedules, and provides constructability comments to support design teams during plan development.
  • Supports the preparation of procurement documents related to project controls specifications.
  • Prepares project managers and office leadership for internal and external meetings by providing reports, analysis, and backup documentation.
  • Supports department growth by participating in business development and marketing efforts.
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining staff, including performance and compensation reviews, and succession planning.
  • Coordinates schedules and approves timecards.
  • Establishes employees’ objectives, provides client feedback, and coaches and mentors the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business and 6 years of related experience, or
  • In lieu of education, 10 years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing staff.
  • Experience with developing and implementing processes and workflows.
  • Effective communication skills.

Pay

The approximate pay range for Ohio is $110,384.86 - $172,653.25. Actual compensation will depend on factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
