About the role
Parsons is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to assist in cost control, budget management, data management, and reporting for large, complex construction programs.
Responsibilities
- Support project life cycle activities including setup, maintenance, invoicing, accruals, financial projections, and month-end close.
- Collaborate with Program Managers and functional departments (business, billing, contracts, subcontracts, operations) to implement business plans, monitor forecasts, and achieve financial objectives.
- Prepare and support Quarterly Deep Dive, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and monthly forecasts.
- Develop and maintain Estimates at Completion (EAC) and assist in accurate projections of Estimates to Complete (ETC).
- Apply Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodologies to ensure cost and schedule are reflected in time-phased forecasts.
- Perform reporting and variance analysis for revenue, profit, cash backlog, and risk/opportunities.
- Identify best practices and coordinate the development of project controls tools and procedures.
- Conduct detailed analysis and validation of financial data for accuracy.
- Organize program and project-level financial data for timely reporting.
- Develop metrics and reports for management and stakeholders.
- Create new program and project control processes related to budgets, estimates, schedules, and information roll-up.
- Review proposed project budget and scope changes for justification and documentation.
- Troubleshoot budget, scope, schedule, funding, or documentation issues across divisions or departments.
- Manage subcontractor and client invoice cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of related work experience preferred.
- Proficiency in software used in Project Controls, such as Excel, forecasting tools, and Costpoint.
- Experience with Primavera and scheduling software is a plus.
- Comfortable working virtually with daily check-ins on project updates.

Pay
Salary range: $30.58 – $53.51 per hour.
