Project Controls Specialist (contract)

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Perform primary project controls assignments in direct support of Project Managers
• Generate comprehensive reports to communicate project status, cost performance, and schedule progress
• Aid with control activities including monitoring, tracking, and analyzing project data
• Respond to data requests from internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner
• Develop, maintain, and support detailed project schedules aligned with project objectives
• Perform detailed cost tracking and maintain up-to-date cost control records
• Cook with Project Managers to obtain and incorporate weekly and monthly cost and schedule updates
• Afford Project Managers in providing accurate project forecasting and variance analysis
• Support data analytics reporting efforts to enhance visibility into project performance

Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling
• Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software
• Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment
• Solid understanding of project controls principles including cost management and schedule control

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a project controls, cost engineering, or scheduling role
• Demonstrated experience supporting Project Managers in a project-driven organization
• Background in lifecycle, overhaul, or dispatch scheduling disciplines as applicable to the role
• Hands-on experience with cost tracking, forecasting, and expenditure review processes
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred
• Relevant professional certifications such as PMI-SP, AACE CCP, or PSP are a plus
