About the role
Parsons is looking for a Project Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with a project team to assist with the management of multiple contracts, focusing on cost engineering, planning and scheduling, and earned value management.
Responsibilities
Cost Engineering
- Management of multiple contract databases and tracking detailed project costs.
- Assisting with forecasting, project billing, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinating with clients, other client-side consultants, and internal staff to complete routine and isolated tasks.
- Carrying out annual cost savings analysis, change orders, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting with the development and management of cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information.
- Facilitating the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments as needed.
- Performing independent analysis of data stored in project management and cost control systems.
- Creating presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
Planning and Scheduling
- Implementing and maintaining project planning and scheduling.
- Understanding and applying engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships.
- Developing and maintaining less complex critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information.
- Analyzing, evaluating, and forecasting current status against an established baseline schedule.
- Assessing the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
- Reporting schedule status to all levels of project and company management as well as to the client.
Earned Value
- Implementing and maintaining an Earned Value Management System on the project.
- Analyzing cost and schedule performance indicators (CPI and SPI).
- Preparing and maintaining project forecasts and status updates.
- Providing assessment with corrective action recommendations to management.
Other Duties
- Fulfilling project manager requests for changes on new and existing sites.
- Providing guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to others in the resolution of project control problems.
- Performing other functions and responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience) and typically 3+ years of related work experience.
- Proficient project controls skills including a working knowledge of various Project Controls software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Able to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Basic financial acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of Power BI.

Pay
Salary Range: $30.58 - $53.51 per hour.
