Project Control Analyst- CORP
About the role
A Project Control Analyst is part of the Project Management Team and assists the Program Manager to ensure the project stays within budget and is completed on time. The role involves keeping accurate records of expenditures and timelines, tracking regulatory compliance of each phase, and monitoring market changes that may affect the project. The Junior Project Control Analyst assists in compiling this data and processes reports for management to determine whether changes should be made.
Responsibilities
- Generate regular reports on project performance, trends, and forecasts, utilizing data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Support and consult with project managers and deployment managers on project issues, status, and tracking requirements.
- Help identify ways to reduce costs while improving control measures.
- Analyze and interpret complex financial data, understand project financial fundamentals, and perform scenario analysis.
- Implement reporting procedures to review project status and valuation of work in progress, tracking procedures for contract deliverables.
- Gather all necessary documentation, such as timesheets, expense reports, and progress reports, to prepare accurate invoices for the client.
- Generate and submit client invoices according to the project's billing schedule.
- Implement project plans under the direction of others in the project.
- Supervise and mentor staff with a thorough understanding of industry-standard project controls practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or other related field. An additional two years of relevant experience can be substituted for the degree.
- 5+ years of cradle-to-grave project controls and analysis, including project billing/charging setup, baseline vs. actual analysis, and variance analysis.
- Strong financial knowledge and experience managing government contracts, cost controls, and project budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, index match, conditional formatting, and filters).
- Proficiency in project accounting software such as Unanet is a plus.
